Facilissimo!

With the beautiful spring days you want to be outdoors, cultivate some plants or, as happens more and more often today, to grow an herb garden on the balcony. Gives some satisfaction collect the rewards of our work and then it’s a bio choice. Depending on the space that you can dedicate to the vegetable garden,  there are many ideas and solutions, from vases, pipes but today I want to propose some ideas that uses recycled and low cost materials, concepts very dear to me: make a vegetable garden yourself with pallets! I’ve made it two years ago to have more space to grow vegetables because my garden is really small but very manageable! And, in particular, to put little strawberry plants I‘ve growed from a single seedling the pallet is perfect for strawberries because so are raised off the ground and therefore less attacked by greedy animals! How to create a vegetable garden DIY with pallets? Very easy!

DIY pallet planter

  • Prendete due bancali, un telo – meglio di iuta perchè traspira, io avevo del pluriball di un vecchio imballo e ho usato quello, e le piantine mi sono sempre cresciute!;
  •  Take two pallets, a plastic sheet better jute because transpires, I had the bubble wrap packaging of an old and I used to, and I have always grown seedlings !;

Orto_coi_pallet

  • Posate il primo pallet come basamento e su questo fissate, con la sparapunti o martello e chiodi, il telo che dovrà essere tagliato di dimensioni maggiori rispetto al bancale;
  • Put the first pallet as a base and, on this, fix, with the staple gun or hammer and nails, the towel, cut larger than the pallet;
  • Appoggiate, facendoli combaciare, il secondo bancale sopra al primo e risvoltate i bordi del telo in modo da creare un bordo tutto interno al secondo bancale e fissate con graffette o chiodi;
  • Rest, making them fit together, the second pallet above the first and the edges of the sheet are folded so as to create a border around inside the second pallet and secured with staples or nails;

  • Fill the spaces between the slats of the pallet with soil and voila you’re ready to sow or plant what you like!

    what a creative idea! I’m known for “killing” my plants but with much help from my father we have a pretty big garden with tomatoes and other vegetables. We haven’t had much luck with strawberies thought so I think I will try the idea with the pallets! Thank you girls! kisses!
