My moodboard on wednesday #26 – Christmas edition – Tartan mania

Come avrete letto nel post precedente da questa settimana iniziamo ad organizzarci per Natale, tutto all’insegna del fai da te, dai regali, alla tavola, ai decori, un percorso da fare insieme, se mi seguirete, per arrivare preparate, ma rilassate, alla questa meravigliosa Festività! E anche l’appuntamento settimanale del mercoledì con le moodboard sarà d’ora in poi in Edizione Natalizia così da potervi ispirare nella scelta del tema che vorrete sviluppare: Natale rosso & bianco, in oro, Winter Wonderland, total white e molto altro ancora. As you have read in my previous post this week we start to organize ourselves for Christmas, a DIY Christmas, of course, from gifts, to the table, decors, a path to do together, if you follow me, to get prepared, but relaxed, to this wonderful Holiday! And the weekly Wednesday appointment with moodboards will be, henceforth, a  Christmas Edition so that you can be inspired in the choice of the theme that you’ll want to develop: Christmas in red & white, gold, Winter Wonderland, all white, and more.

Questa settimana ho scelto come tema il Tartan – base rossa; se avete più o meno la mia età – diciamo tra i 35 e i 45 anni – avrete probabilmente vissuto anche voi, con terrore, i pranzi di Natale con i parenti: vestite in gonnellina scozzese rossa con la parte plissettata davanti tenuta da uno spillone dorato; ovviamente accompagnato da un bel maglioncino in lana a trecce e collant in lana, bianchi o verdi. Ecco, questa mise da aspirante elfo di Babbo Natale, è per me quanto di più odioso potessi indossare; io volevo solo correre, giocare, divertirmi con in cuginetti…invece passavo il tempo a grattarmi – perchè la lana mi provocava prurito- a tirarmi su le calze che, essendo di lana e non elasticizzate, erano molli e cadenti…Forse sto esagerando, ma avrei preferito sicuramente qualcosa di più comodo! Comunque ancora oggi la vista di questa fantasia mi richiama subito alla mente il Natale. This week I have chosen Tartan for my moodboard’s theme – red base; if you have more or less my age – say between 35 and 45 years – you‘ll probably also lived with terror, the Christmas lunches with relatives dressed in red plaid skirt with pleated in front part held by a golden pin; obviously, accompanied by a nice sweater wool cable knit and wool tights, white or green. This aspiring Santa Claus’s elf dressing, I remember that was the most obnoxious outfit I could wear; I just wanted to run, play, have fun with cousins … instead spending the time to scratch – because the wool makes me scratch-   to pull up the socks, as they were all soft and saggy … Maybe I’m exaggerating, but I would have definitely preferred something more comfortable! However, even today the view of this fantasy  immediately brings to my mind Christmas.

Perfetti per la casa in montagna o per lo stile country, i tessuti d’arredo della figura 1 ;in effetti sui tessuti questa fantasia rende al meglio, come sulla tovaglia della figura 3 che fornisce ispirazioni per la tavola di Natale. Come sottopiatti vengono disposte delle foglie di cipresso, come centrotavola viene posizionata un’alzatina in ceramica con i bastoncini di zucchero rossi e bianchi e per arricchire il tutto un colorato trenino giocattolo colmo di caramelle; i colori sono quelli della palette del Tartan della tovaglia ovvero rosso, verde e bianco. Avete dei pezzi di tessuto plaid che vi avanzano? Magari qualche vecchia gonna? 😉 O sciarpa? Potete realizzare facilmente delle palline per l’albero di Natale come quella della figura 4. Oppure degli eleganti copri tazza da utilizzare per voi o come idea regalo fai da te come in figura 2. O arricchire, con un nastro Tartan, una ghirlanda fuoriporta molto semplice ma raffinata, come nell’immagine 7. Per un matrimonio d’inverno, magari in campagna, il Tartan può essere perfetto come ispirazione per la tavola, i segnaposto, i dettagli del vestito della sposa, sposo e delle damigelle (immagine 5); e nel caso in cui dovesse piovere…potete sempre indossare gli stivali in gomma di Ralph Lauren (6), belli vero?

Perfect for the home in the mountains or for a  country style house, the soft furnishings of Figure 1, tissue effects this fantasy makes the best, as on the tablecloth of Figure 3 that provides inspirations for the Christmas table. How mats are arranged leaves of cypress, as a centerpiece is placed backsplash ceramic with red and white candy canes and to enrich all a colorful toy train filled with candy; the colors are those of the palette Tartan tablecloth or red, green and white. Do you have pieces of fabric plaid you advance? Maybe some old skirt? 😉 Or scarf? You can easily make the balls for the Christmas tree as in Figure 4. Or the elegant cup cover be used as a gift idea for you or do it yourself as shown in figure 2. O enrich, with a Tartan ribbon, a wreath very simple but elegant, as in picture 7. For a winter wedding, maybe in the country, the Tartan can be perfect as an inspiration for the table, the placeholders, the details of the dress of the bride, groom and the bridesmaids (picture 5); and in case it should rain … you can always wear Ralph Lauren rubber boots (6), beautiful is not it?
